His films have been screened at numerous festivals both at home and abroad to great critical acclaim, making him one of the major Iranian documentary makers. In 2010 Oskouei received the Dutch Prince Claus Award for his achievements. He is a founding member of the Institute of Anthropology and Culture and has sat on over 100 international film festival juries as well as being a cultural ambassador for the United Nation’s humanitarian committee UCHA. He is on the boards of Iranian Short Film Association, Documentary Filmmakers of Iran, The National Iranian Photographers Association, member of European Documentary Network EDN, and International Documentary Association IDA. He is also the Head of Film Distribution at Against Gravity, which distributes art-house and documentary cinema. He graduated in Film Studies and Sociology from the University of Glasgow. For over a decade he has been involved with documentary cinema. He started working at the WATCH DOCS festival in Warsaw, subsequently becoming the Programming Director at the Document International Human Rights in Film Festival in Glasgow. She is born in Bulgaria and graduate in film directing. In 1986, she co-established a film production company, Diogène in Belgium which works with TV channels, humanitarian organisations such as MSF, UN and European’s programs. Her films, “Death in Bali”, “Portrait of a man in power”, “Hunting for wolves”, “The secret Dairy of Zinaïda Gippius”, “The Green Oranges of Liberia”, “Virtuosi from nowhere”, “Against the Stream”, “Seuthes the Immortal” have been presented and awarded at many international festivals. The themes of memory and the preservation of real values in situations of crisis lie at the basis of her work. He studied Economics and German Litrature at Tehran University and Comparative Literature at University of Vienna. Faridzadeh made his PhD in Philosophy and Literature and wrote his thesis on Metaphor and philosophical Hermeneutics: A Comparative Study in Western and Islamic Tradition, under Supervision of Prof. Hans Feger at Free University of Berlin. He was a senior researcher at German-Asian Graduate Group of Humanities in Berlin. Since 2012 Faridzadeh has been teaching philosophy and German literature as a member of faculty of Humanities at Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran. He was director of Central Library, Archive Center and Univ. Press of Shahid Beheshti University.
